Pastry For Fried Or Cobbler Pies - cooking recipe

1 qt. flour
3/4 c. shortening
2/3 c. Pet milk
1 egg

Preparation

Cut flour and shortening together.
Add 2/3 cup Pet milk with cold water to equal 1 cup and add beaten egg to milk, then add to flour mixture.
Work into a dough.
Roll thin and cut in circles. Spoon filling in center and fold over.
Crimp edges with fork dipped in water to seal.
Punch fork holes in top and fry in hot oil about 1/2 inch in electric skillet.
Drain on paper towel and sprinkle with powdered sugar (optional).
