Apple Butter Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1 c. apple butter
    2 1/2 c. flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1 c. sour milk
    1/2 c. apple butter
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Beat in eggs one at a time.
    Beat until light and fluffy.
    Stir in 1 cup apple butter.
    Sift together dry ingredients.
    Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with sour milk.
    (To make sour milk, measure 1 tablespoon lemon juice into measuring cup; add milk to make 1 cup and stir.)
    Turn into 2 greased and floured 9-inch cake pans or one 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
    Cool. Spread bottom layer of cooled cake with 1/4 cup apple butter.
    Top with fluffy frosting.
    Cover top cake layer.
    Frost sides and top. Swirl apple butter onto frosted top to give marbled effect.
