Family Recipe Buttermilk Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. self rising flour (Gold Medal or Martha White)
    1 tsp. baking soda
    8 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. lukewarm water
    1 envelope (1/4 oz.) yeast
    1 c. Crisco or other shortening
    2 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    In a large bowl, mix together the flour, soda, sugar, and salt.
    Dissolve the yeast in the lukewarm water.
    Add the yeast mixture, shortening, and buttermilk to the flour mixture.
    Mix together well.
    Cover and let rise.
    Knead just a little. Refrigerate overnight.
