Tomato Juice Cocktail - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    enough tomatoes to make 2 qt.
    1 c. water
    8 cloves
    1 bay leaf
    2 small onions, cut fine
    1 Tbsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Remove stems, ends and blemishes from the tomatoes and cut into pieces.
    Do not peel.
    Cook all ingredients together.
    Let simmer for one hour.
    Strain.
    Add 1/4 cup mild vinegar to strained juice and heat to boiling point.
    Seal in sterilized jars.
