Peach Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine
    about 8 firm peaches, peeled and sliced
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. plain flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. milk
    1/4 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. water
    1 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Grease 10-inch casserole; line with peaches.
    Cream margarine and 1/2 cup sugar.
    Mix together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk and vanilla.
    Spoon over peaches.
    Mix remaining 1 cup sugar with water; bring to boil and stir until sugar completely dissolves.
    Pour over batter. Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 1 hour or until top browns.
