Peas And Hash Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1/4 c. onion
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 (16 oz.) can peas
    16 oz. potatoes, diced and cooked ahead
Preparation
    Brown and cook onion and beef in hot shortening, stirring to separate beef into small pieces.
    Season with salt and pepper. Drain peas, reserving 1/2 cup liquid.
    Add peas, reserved liquid and drained potatoes.
    Heat until vegetables are hot.
