White Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. warm water
2 pkg. yeast
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
4 Tbsp. melted shortening
5 1/4 to 5 1/2 c. flour
Preparation

Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Stir in sugar, egg and shortening.
(Grease hands.)
Mix in flour to make soft dough. Knead it until mixed well.
Put in greased bowl and let rise 1 hour.
Punch down.
Make into 2 loaves and put in 2 greased loaf pans.
Let rise for 1 hour.
Bake in moderate oven at 325\u00b0 for approximately 40 minutes.
Top should be golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
Rub with butter after done.
