Congo Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box light brown sugar
    1 1/8 sticks butter
    2 3/4 c. self-rising flour
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. nuts or coconut
    1 c. chocolate chips (optional)
Preparation
    Melt butter; pour over sugar.
    Add eggs, flour, nuts and vanilla.
    Bake in a shallow dish or pan for 30 to 35 minutes at 325\u00b0.
    Makes 20 (2-inch) squares.
