Pennsylvania Dutch Shoo-Fly Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. dark molasses (light for a milder taste)
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Mix flour, sugar, shortening and salt.
    Take out 1 cup of mixture; set aside for topping.
    Combine molasses, baking soda and water; add to dry ingredients.
    Divide mixture between two 8-inch unbaked pie shells.
    Top with reserved crumb topping (1/2 cup for each pie).
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
