Harriette'S Pound Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. shortening or butter
4 eggs
1 tsp. lemon rind (optional)
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. nutmeg (optional)
Preparation

Mix shortening, sugar, eggs, vanilla and spices; beat well 2 1/2 minutes.
Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk.
Beat only well enough to blend.
Bake in a well-greased loaf pan for 60 to 70 minutes at 350\u00b0.
