Cherry Coke Jello Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. sugar
    3/4 c. water
    1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. cherry gelatin
    1 (No. 202) can crushed pineapple, not drained
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 (8 oz.) Coke
    1/2 c. nuts, chopped (optional)
Preparation
    Heat sugar and water to boiling point. Add pie filling and bring to boiling point again.
    Pour over gelatin, stirring until dissolved. Add the rest of the ingredients, mixing well.
    Chill until set in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
