Caramel Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    14 oz. pkg. light caramels
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 1/2 c. brown sugar
    3/4 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. nuts
    7 1/2 Tbsp. canned milk or half and half
    1 1/2 c. quick oatmeal
    1 c. margarine
    pinch of salt
    1 c. chocolate chips
Preparation
    Melt caramels in a heavy saucepan or in microwave with the cream.
    Combine rest of ingredients, except chocolate chips and nuts.
    Press 3/4 in greased 9 x 19-inch pan.
    Bake 10 minutes. Then sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts.
    Dribble the caramel mixture and then the remaining crumbs.
    Bake 15 to 20 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Cool before cutting.
