Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. cornmeal
    1 small onion, finely chopped
    3/4 c. milk
    1 egg, beaten
Preparation
    Sift together the dry ingredients.
    Add onion.
    Stir in milk and egg.
    Fry teaspoonful of batter in hot fat in frying pan until golden brown.
    Drain on absorbent paper.
    Serve hot with fish or meat.
    Makes 2 dozen hush puppies.
