Golden Pastry - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. sifted enriched flour
    1 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. shortening
    6 Tbsp. water
Preparation
    In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
    With a pastry blender or two knives, cut in shortening until mixture looks like coarse oatmeal.
    Add water one tablespoon at a time and mix lightly with a fork until all flour is moistened.
    With the hands, gather dough into a ball and divide in half.
    On a lightly floured board, roll out each half in a circle 1/8-inch thick and about 1 1/2-inches larger in diameter than a pie plate.
    Yield:
    2 pie shells.
