Chili Con Carne - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 lb. lean beef, cubed
3 Tbsp. oil
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 Tbsp. chili powder
2 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. water or 1 c. water and 1 c. beer
2 Tbsp. cornmeal
ground pepper
canned, chopped green chili peppers
Preparation

Brown meat in hot oil and set aside.
Saute onion and garlic in same pot.
Add more oil, if needed.
Return meat to pot.
Add all remaining ingredients, except chili peppers and cornmeal. Cover and simmer over low heat until meat is tender and liquid is reduced (2 to 3 hours).
Add cornmeal to thicken, if needed.
Add chili peppers.
Cook 10 minutes.
