Cabbage Casserole Supreme - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 large head cabbage
1 lb. bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 (16 oz.) loaf white bread, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1 lb. American cheese slices or enough to cover a 9 x 13-inch pan twice
pepper to taste
Preparation

Cut cabbage into pieces; boil until tender and drain.
Fry bacon in large skillet until crisp; drain and set aside.
Pour bacon grease into container (keep).
Wipe pan with cloth or paper towel.
Pour 2 or 3 tablespoons grease back into pan and add 1/3 of bread crumbs.
Turn crumbs until toasted; repeat with the rest of crumbs.
