Caramel Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 large eggs or 4 small ones
1 c. sugar
1 c. rich milk
1 heaping spoon flour
pinch of salt
butter size of small egg
Preparation

Cook 1/2 cup sugar, eggs and flour together until begins to thicken.
Brown 1/2 cup sugar by cooking in iron skillet until it caramelizes.
Stir this into the other mixture which has been cooked and kept warm.
It has to be good and hot when you pour the browned sugar in or it will lump.
Add butter last and cook a few minutes after adding; cool.
Pour into cooked pie crust and top with meringue.
Brown in oven.
