Flour Tortillas - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. warm water
    1 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. shortening
Preparation
Cut shortening into flour and salt until particles are the size of small peas.
Sprinkle in the warm water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until all the flour is moistened and dough almost cleans side of bowl.
Gather dough into a ball; divide into 12 equal balls.
Shape into balls; cover and let rest 20 minutes.
Roll each ball on floured surface into 6-inch circle.
Heat ungreased 8-inch skillet or griddle over medium-high heat until hot.
Cook tortillas until dry around the edges and blisters appear on surface, about 2 minutes on each side.
Stack tortillas, placing waxed paper between each.
    Cover with a damp cloth.
    Yields 12 tortillas.
