Salisbury Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    1/3 c. fine dry bread crumbs
    1 egg, beaten
    1/4 c. finely chopped onion
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 (10 1/2 oz.) can mushroom gravy
Preparation
    Mix well all ingredients, except gravy.
    Shape into 6 oblong patties.
    In skillet, brown patties in shortening.
    Pour off fat. Add gravy.
    Cover.
    Simmer 20 minutes.
    Serves 6.
