Southern Pineapple Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. butter
    2 3/4 c. sugar
    6 large eggs
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 c. crushed pineapple (not drained)
Preparation
    Cream shortening, butter and sugar.
    Add eggs, one at a time. Beat well after each.
    Add dry ingredients (sifted together) one spoon at a time, alternately with milk and vanilla.
    Stir in pineapple; blend well.
    Pour into greased large pan.
    Place in cold oven; turn temperature to 325\u00b0.
    Bake for 1 1/2 hours or until top springs back.
    Let stand a few minutes; run knife around edge.
    Remove carefully to rack.
    Combine 1/4 cup butter, 1 1/2 cups confectioners sugar and 1 cup drained pineapple and pour over hot cake.
