French Fried Onion Rings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 to 4 large onions
    1 egg yolk, slightly beaten
    1/2 c. milk
    1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. melted Crisco
    Crisco (for frying)
Preparation
    Cook sweet potatoes in a little water until just tender; peel and slice.
    Toss gently with pitted prunes, orange marmalade and softened butter or margarine.
    Season with lemon juice and pepper. Cover; heat in oven or microwave.
