Ingredients

4 eggs, beaten
2/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. milk
1/3 c. shortening, melted
1 1/3 c. flour, sifted
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation

Beat eggs and sugar until light.
Add milk and cooled shortening.
Add sifted dry ingredients.
Mix until smooth. Chill.
Roll 3/8 inch thick on lightly floured surface.
Cut with floured cutter.
Let stand for 15 minutes.
Fry in hot deep fat (375 degrees) until brown, turning once.
Drain.
Makes 2 dozen.
