Thick White Sauce - cooking recipe

4 qt. milk
1 lb. butter or margarine
12 to 16 oz. flour
1 1/2 Tbsp. salt
Preparation

Melt butter or margarine. Remove from heat. Add flour; stir until smooth. Add salt, then hot milk gradually, stirring constantly. Cook and stir until smooth and thick, about 15 to 20 minutes.
