Divinity Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    2/3 c. white Karo syrup
    1 c. nut meats, chopped or halved
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2/3 c. cold water
    pinch of salt
    3 egg whites
Preparation
    Combine sugar, syrup, water and salt in double boiler and bring quickly to a boil.
    Reduce heat and cook until a small amount dropped in cold water forms a clear, hard crystal ball.
