Cherries In The Snow - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (12 oz.) Cool Whip
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. powdered sugar
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
    1 can cherry pie filling
    1 angel food cake
Preparation
    Cut cake in very thin slices.
    Place layer in bottom of 9 x 13-inch glass pan, cutting same number of slices for second layer. Soften cream cheese; add sugar, Cool Whip and vanilla until well blended.
    Pour half over cake slices.
    Add second cake layer. Spoon rest of cheese mixture over cake slices, covering completely.
    Top with cherry pie filling.
    Chill for 6 to 8 hours before serving.
