Caramel Brownies - cooking recipe

1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
1 (18 1/2 oz.) pkg. chocolate cake mix
3/4 c. margarine, softened
1 c. nuts
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
2/3 c. evaporated milk
Preparation

Melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk.
Combine cake mix, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and margarine with mixer until dough holds together.
Stir in nuts.
Press half of mixture in greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 6 minutes.
Sprinkle chips over crust.
Pour caramels over chips, spreading evenly.
Crumble remaining cake mixture over caramel mixture.
Bake 15 to 18 minutes longer.
