Ingredients

1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. margarine
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. flour
1 to 1 1/2 c. cherries, drained
1 c. sugar
1 c. boiling water
Preparation

Mix sugar, butter, milk, baking powder, salt and flour.
Put in greased 8-inch casserole.
Put cherries on top of batter; dot with margarine and add 1 cup sugar.
Pour boiling water over all.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 35 minutes.
Cherries will to to bottom and form a sauce.
(I usually double this and put in 9 x 13 pan.)
Serve with ice cream.
