Old Time Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 slices stale bread (white, whole wheat, oatmeal or whole grain)
    1 Tbsp. butter or margarine (room temperature)
    1/3 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. raisins
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon or nutmeg
    1 egg
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
    Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
    Stack slices and cut in 3/4-inch squares.
    Turn into ovenproof 1-quart casserole dish; sprinkle with sugar, raisins and spice.
    Beat egg with milk.
    Pour over bread mixture.
    Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until pudding is set.
    Serve warm or cold.
