Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 qt. cucumber slices
    8 large onions, sliced thin
    5 large sweet peppers, chopped or sliced
    1 c. salt
    2 qt. white vinegar
    7 c. sugar
    1 tsp. turmeric
    3 tsp. white mustard
    1/4 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Combine cucumbers, onions and peppers.
    Add salt and mix well. Let stand 24 hours, then drain.
    In a large kettle, combine vinegar, sugar, turmeric, mustard and celery seed.
    Bring to a boil.
    Add cucumber mixture and bring to a boil again. Spoon pickles into hot sterilized jars and seal.
