Pennsylvania Dutch Green Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 slices bacon
    1 small onion
    2 tsp. cornstarch
    1/4 tsp. dry mustard
    1 can green beans
    1 Tbsp. brown sugar
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 chopped hard-cooked egg (optional)
Preparation
    Cook, drain and crumble bacon.
    Pour off all but 1 tablespoon bacon grease.
    Add onion and saute.
    Blend in cornstarch and mustard.
    Drain beans, reserving 1/2 cup liquid.
    Stir and reserve liquid into skillet.
    Cook, stirring constantly, until thick. Stir in sugar and vinegar.
    Add beans, heat and serve, sprinkling with bacon and egg.
