Corn Chowder - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 slices bacon
1 medium onion, chopped
2 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 c. water
1 qt. half & half
1 pkg. frozen corn
1 tsp. basil
1/2 tsp. thyme
salt and pepper to taste
1/4 c. chopped celery (optional)
Preparation

Fry bacon, set bacon to drain; reserve 1 to 2 tsp. drippings. Put potatoes and water on, bring to a boil, simmer until done. Saute onions (and celery if desired) in bacon drippings until transparent, add seasonings.
Combine all of the above and add the half & half and the corn; simmer 30 minutes to 1 hour to meld flavors.
