Vidalia Onion Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 Tbsp. butter
5 onions (Vidalia, medium)
1 pie crust (9-inch), partially baked
1 c. Swiss cheese, grated
2 eggs
2 egg yolks
1 c. milk
1/2 c. cream (heavy) or whipping
1 tsp. salt
cayenne pepper
Preparation

Melt butter in heavy saucepan; add onions and cook over medium-low heat until onions are limp but not brown at all. Drain the onions and arrange them in the pastry shell.
Cover with grated cheese.
Beat together eggs, yolks, milk, cream, salt and pepper and pour over the cheese.
Place on lower shelf of the oven and bake at 350\u00b0 until the pie has puffed in the middle and is golden brown all over (35 to 40 minutes).
