Grandma Lanham'S Fried Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. yellow cornmeal
    1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    2 tsp. baking powder
    2 Tbsp. bacon drippings
    1 egg, beaten
Preparation
    Mix until smooth.
    Drop by spoonfuls onto hot griddle or iron skillet, lightly greased.
    Brown on one side, then turn over and brown other side.
    Serve with butter.
