Apple Butter - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 to 14 c. apples
    2 c. cider
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. ground cloves
Preparation
    Core and chop apples (do not peel).
    Combine apples and cider in crock-pot.
    Cover and cook on low 10 to 12 hours or until apples are mushy.
    Puree in a food mill or sieve.
    Return mixture to pot.
    Add sugar, cinnamon and cloves.
    Cover and cook on low 1 hour or more, until mixture is thickened.
    Pour into jars and seal.
