Beef Mexican Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. ground beef or turkey
1 chopped onion
1/4 c. chopped green pepper
1 box beefy Hamburger Helper
5 c. water
1 can Mexican style chili beans
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/4 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 (16 oz.) can chopped tomatoes
1 (16 oz.) bag frozen corn
1 (4 oz.) can sliced black olives
1 c. chopped frozen okra (optional)
Preparation

Cook beef or turkey, onion and pepper until browned.
Drain off fat if beef is used.
Stir in sauce mix from Hamburger Helper, water, seasonings and tomatoes with liquid.
Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
Reduce heat, cover and simmer 10 minutes. Stir in macaroni, corn, beans and okra.
Stir in olives with liquid.
Cover and cook 10 more minutes.
(May substitute two 14 1/2 ounce cans chopped tomatoes with liquid and 4 cups water for one 16 ounce can tomatoes and 5 cups water.)
