Buttermilk Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. pecans
Preparation
    Pour milk, sugar and baking soda into large pot (it will foam up while cooking).
    Stir to dissolve sugar.
    Let it bubble on medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it turns brownish in color and reaches soft ball stage.
    Use candy thermometer, if possible.
