Anderson'S Pea Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. water
    2 c. green split peas
    1 stalk celery, chopped coarsely
    1 large carrot, chopped
    1 small onion, chopped
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    pinch of cayenne
    1 bay leaf
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Combine
    water with all ingredients.
    Bring to boil and continue to
    boil hard for 20 minutes.
    Reduce heat and simmer 45 minutes
    or
    until\tpeas
    are
    tender.
    Strain through fine sieve and reheat to boiling point.
