Whole Wheat Banana Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. plus Tbsp. butter or margarine, softened
    3/4 c. firmly packed dark brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. buttermilk
    2 c. mashed ripe banana
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating well.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
    Stir in banana and pecans.
    Spoon batter into a greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until a wooden pick comes out clean.
    Cool in pan 5 minutes. Remove to a wire rack and cool completely.
