Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 medium green tomatoes, sliced
1/2 c. cornmeal
1/8 c. flour
salt and pepper
bacon drippings or shortening
Preparation

Mix flour, cornmeal, salt and pepper.
Dredge tomato slices in cornmeal mixture.
Fry in hot drippings or melted shortening until brown, turning only once.
Drain well on paper towels.
Serve hot.
