Apple Pie Filling - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 1/2 to 6 lb. tart apples, sliced and put into qt. jars
    4 1/2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    10 c. water
    1 c. cornstarch
    1 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. lemon juice
Preparation
    Mix all except apples well in a saucepan.
    Cook until thick and bubbly.
    Pour over the apples in the jars and seal.
    Process in a water bath for 20 minutes for quarts.
    (Can mix the apples with the cooked mixture and then put in jars and process.)
