German Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. brown sugar
    2 c. flour
    3/4 c. margarine or butter
    1 tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    2 tsp. nutmeg
    2 eggs
    1 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Cream sugar, flour and butter until crumbly; set aside 1 cup. Mix soda and spices into mixture.
    Add eggs and milk.
    Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Top with reserved mix.
    Bake in preheated 325\u00b0 oven for 30 minutes.
    Serve with Lemon Sauce.
