Plantation Okra - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 slices bacon, cut in 1-inch pieces
3 1/2 c. sliced okra (1 lb.)
1 medium onion, chopped
1 (14 1/2 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
1 medium green pepper (optional)
1/2 c. diced celery
1 (8 3/4 oz.) can whole kernel corn, drained
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation

Cook bacon in a large skillet until crisp; remove bacon, reserving half of drippings in skillet.
Set bacon aside.
Saute okra and onion in drippings over medium heat 10 minutes.
Add tomatoes, green pepper and celery; cook 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add corn, salt and pepper; cook an additional 15 minutes or until liquid is absorbed.
Sprinkle with bacon.
