Lime Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 gal. cucumbers, cut round
    2 gal. water or enough to cover the cucumbers
    2 c. lime, mixed in water
    8 c. vinegar
    1 tsp. salt
    8 c. sugar
    1 tsp. pickling spice
Preparation
    Pour the lime and water mixture over the cucumbers and leave 24 hours. Wash in cold water.
    Leave for 3 more hours.
    Combine the vinegar, salt, sugar and pickling spice.
    Pour over cucumbers and cook 30 minutes, then can.
