Aid Society Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. raisins
2 c. water
1 c. water (cold)
1/2 c. shortening or margarine
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. soda
4 c. flour
Preparation

Stew the raisins in 2 cups of water for 15 minutes.
Cool. Add 1 cup of cold water, the shortening, sugar and spices.
Mix well.
Add flour and baking soda.
Pour batter into a large angel food cake pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
