Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. soda
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. vinegar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 1/3 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar thoroughly.
    Add egg and blend until creamy.
    Add soda dissolved in vinegar.
    Add vanilla.
    Then add flour gradually to make a stiff batter.
    Roll very thin.
    Cut out and bake in moderate oven until brown.
