Cabbage Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 medium onions, chopped
    2 medium potatoes, pared and chopped
    2 medium carrots, pared and chopped
    1 small head cabbage, chopped
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 qt. chicken broth
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. ground thyme
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 c. light cream
Preparation
    In skillet, heat butter and saute onion until limp.
    In a large saucepan, bring chicken broth to a boil.
    Add sauteed onions, potatoes, carrots, cabbage, salt, thyme and pepper. Simmer, covered, until vegetables are tender, but not mushy, about 35 minutes.
    Stir in cream; heat, but do not boil.
    Serve hot. Yield: 6 servings.
