Demon Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 sq. Hershey's baking chocolate
    1 c. butter
    2 1/4 c. granulated sugar
    1 1/2 c. buttermilk or sour milk
    3 c. sifted cake flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    5 eggs, separated
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Melt the baking chocolate over simmering water, and add to the butter and sugar, creamed well.
    Add buttermilk and flour which has been sifted with the baking soda, baking powder and salt alternately, then add the well beaten egg yolks and the egg white, stiffly whipped, and lastly the vanilla.
    Pour into three well-greased and floured 9-inch pans.
    Bake in moderate oven (350\u00b0) for 30 to 35 minutes.
    Put together with Chocolate Butter Filling.
