Pecan Caramel Thumbprints - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. pecans
    3/4 c. granulated sugar
    1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, softened
    2 large eggs
    2 c. all purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    48 soft and chewy classic caramels
    confectioners sugar
Preparation
    In food processor chop 1 1/4 cups of pecans and place in a small bowl.
    Put remaining 1/2 cup pecans and sugar in processor and pulse until nuts are finely ground.
    Add butter and eggs, process until smooth.
    Add flour, baking powder and salt; pulse just until blended.
    Scrape dough into a bowl.
