Ingredients

1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. vinegar
2 c. cooked beets, cut in fancy shapes
1 1/2 tsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. water
2 Tbsp. butter
Preparation

Mix sugar and cornstarch.
Add vinegar and water; boil 5 minutes.
Add beets and let stand over low heat 30 minutes.
Just before serving, bring to boiling point and add butter.
Serves 6.
