Pecan Chew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/3 c. water
    1/8 tsp. soda
    2 2/3 c. chopped pecans
    2/3 c. white Karo syrup
    1 1/4 c. evaporated milk
    1/2 c. butter
    1/8 tsp. salt
Preparation
    In a large heavy pot, add all the ingredients.
    Cook to a hard boil stage (260\u00b0) on top of stove.
    Quickly add pecans and beat one minute.
    Pour onto a buttered cookie sheet 2/3 full.
    Let cool and cut into bite size pieces.
    Great at Christmastime!
